Who We Are


The Lafiaji Development Association (LDA) is a community-focused NGO established by the proud indigenes of Lafiaji to serve as a catalyst for development and empowerment. Since our incorporation in the 1980s, we have remained steadfast in our mission to address the unique needs of Lafiaji’s five key areas: Okesuna, Sandgrouse, Araromi, Obalende, and Ijeh.
Our vision is rooted in the principles of unity, collaboration, and service, as we strive to uplift every part of the Lafiaji community. From improving access to education and healthcare to promoting economic opportunities, LDA is committed to fostering an environment where every resident can thrive. We work closely with community stakeholders, local authorities, and development partners to ensure our initiatives create lasting impact.
LDA’s leadership is composed of dedicated and passionate individuals who share a deep connection to Lafiaji’s heritage and a commitment to driving meaningful change.

Projects


Lafiaji Development Association (LDA) focuses on transformative projects that enhance the lives of residents across Okesuna, Sandgrouse, Araromi, Obalende, and Ijeh. Our initiatives are designed to address the immediate needs of the community while laying the foundation for long-term development. Some of our key projects include:
• Educational Scholarships and Support: We provide scholarships and educational materials to underprivileged students within the Lafiaji community to help them achieve their academic goals.
• Community Welfare: Our palliative drives, especially during festive seasons and economic hardships, ensure that vulnerable members of our community receive essential support.
• Environment: To improve sanitation and hygiene in the Lafiaji community through education, infrastructure improvements, and community engagement, aligning with National environmental Sanitation Day 2025 (28th of June) themes and goals. The "Clean Your Hood" initiative is a one-day environmental sanitation program aimed at mobilizing the youth of the Lafiaji community to actively participate in cleaning their environment.
• Healthcare Initiatives: LDA has been instrumental in organizing health outreaches and awareness campaigns, offering free medical checkups, and advocating for better healthcare infrastructure in our community.
• Economic Empowerment Programs: Through various vocational training programs, we equip our youth and women with the skills needed to thrive economically and contribute to the community’s prosperity.
• Entertainment: Exciting sport, afrobeat music talent hunt initiative for community youth
• Infrastructural Development: From renovating community centres to addressing road and drainage issues, LDA is actively involved in projects that improve the living conditions of Lafiaji residents.
